〈The Light〉

Upcoming book project

Latticed scenery

taipei, building, concrete jungle, dogs

These poetic series of work are based on a love story between a kept dog and a stray cat. The paintings illustrate about love and the issue of animals' free will under the modern city environment. Shaped by iron window grilles, tin roofs, and fences— Taipei, my hometown is like a vast container. With its buildings as scattered vessels, each holding a diverse mix of people—along with cats and dogs—all waiting, longing for something of their own.

初見你時候 First time we met

isolated, being hated, love

Leaving their small, familiar spaces, the dogs set out on walks with their owners. Along the way, they cross paths with a stray cat—marking the first encounter between the two protagonists.

Under the Same Old Moon

missing, love, dog, cat, moon

Do cats and dogs have their own thoughts?

After meeting each other, perhaps they start to imagine the other’s life or even wonder what it would be like to live together. Yet, even if they cannot see each other again, they still look up at the same moon. Has this ever made you think of someone?

Being Closer to You

storm, thunder, windy, typhoon, flying

"The wind was so strong—I flew up with the trees."

That typhoon night became the moment when the dog began chasing the idea of freedom.

Early Morning in the Park

park, free will, bright, plant, green, lively

In a safe environment, perhaps this is what freedom looks like— Reading the messages left behind by others in the morning, dancing when the wind picks up, waiting for the birds in the trees to take their dive...... unconsciously another morning just pass by.
